What is a webinar?
A webinar is a presentation that takes place online. It’s not live. But it records the session so people can watch at their convenience instead of being there in person. This type of event used to be very complicated if you wanted to do it yourself. But now it is actually really easy! We’ll show you how on Thursday March 20th, 2014 from 11am – noon EDT (that’s US Eastern Daylight Time for all my fellow southerners). A lot has changed since our last webinar too including some major updates to WordPress that have made getting started even easier than before! Webinars are great. Because they allow your potential customers or clients an opportunity to ask questions, get their concerns addressed or just show off some of the things they have learned.
Webinars are a great way to leverage the power of online video to educate, inform and engage your audience. Webinars can be recorded. So that viewers who are not able to attend at certain times or were unable to register in time still have access to them later on.

Types of webinars:
Webinars come in all shapes and sizes. So it’s important to know what your options are before you choose which type of webinar is right for you. Webcasts, also known as Web seminars or Web conferences, have been around since the mid-1990s when they first emerged from platforms such as Microsoft Netmeeting & Adobe Connect. These days there are a number of companies that provide webcasting services including industry leaders like GoToMeeting (owned by Citrix) and Webex (acquired by Cisco).
Difference between these types of presentations
The main difference between these types of presentations lies with how participants interact either through chat boxes embedded within the presentation window itself or via an additional program dedicated solely to communication such as Skype where presenters and audience members can communicate via voice or text. Webcasts & Webinars are typically recorded. So that people who were unable to attend the live event at whatever time it was held, still have access to them later on.
