This is actually my favorite book of the past several years, and not just because it’s the type of book I’m most likely to read. The book is so well written and illustrated that you will get lost in the learning experience. I found myself engrossed each time I was reading about the new discoveries in vascular technology.
The book is in fact an illustrated history of vascular technology, and the illustrations are the best part (I mean the best is “The History of Circulation: A Visual History of the Circulatory System”). It’s one of those books that you are not just reading about but actually get a sense of a person who actually had the experience.
And here it is, my first illustrated book review. I am a big fan of books that are written and illustrated by people that actually were there and experienced it themselves.
I have a bunch of books that are written by people that were there and had to experience them and are in my opinion some of the best written books out there. They are some of my favorite reads and are definitely worth the cover price. Although I do have a bunch of books with very bad illustrations that I have to return, I think this is one of the best ones. I cannot stress enough how much I love the illustrations, the author, and the subject matter.
I love the original book and the 4th edition. It is a very unique, very well done, and very interesting book. While the illustrations are a little off, the subject matter is so incredibly interesting and unique that you just have to read the book to get the full effect. I am probably in the minority when it comes to this book, but I personally think it is the best book that I have ever read. I can’t wait to read it again.
I love the illustrations. The book also features a short (about 1/2 page) story of how Dr. Osterwald developed the vascular technology and how it evolved from the research of Dr. David Rittel. I love the story because it is about how the doctor decided to change the direction of the research. The fact that he was able to develop a cure for disease that hasn’t been possible in the past is just astounding.
Although I love the book, I would love to read it without the illustrations on a Kindle. Not only does the book have a lot of illustrations to it, but some of the illustrations are a bit difficult to read. I think part of the reason for this is that the book is printed in both black and white and each illustration can be seen as a separate image in the book. This requires a bit of concentration to read them.
