Javascript is one of the most popular programming languages. Javascript has been around since 1997, and it has grown to become a highly useful tool for web developers. Javascript can be used to create interactive effects, animations, and even games! In this article NCR Report Cards will discuss Javascript’s history as well as its features that make it so appealing to programmers today.

Technology, Computer, Code, Javascript

Project Monolith

Javascript has been around since 1997, and was created by Brendan Eich. Javascript is a scripting language. This means that it runs inside of another program or environment, in this case the browser. Javascript can be used to create interactive effects, animations, and even games! Javascript’s syntax includes all necessary instructions for creating an application without requiring extra modules. Javascript is widely known as being easy to learn. Because it uses English keywords instead of symbol-based languages like many other programming languages do. In fact JJ Abrams recently taught Javascript to students through a youtube series called “Project Monolith”.

A flexible language

Javascript is a flexible language that can be used in many different ways. For example Javascript works great with React which allows Javascript to interact directly with HTML and CSS. Javascript has some awesome applications such as the Netflix player app or even Dropbox’s file picker! In fact, Javascript was recently ranked 11th on IEEE Spectrum’s top programming languages list. This ranking accounted for skillset popularity among job seekers from June 2016 – Jun 2017.

Popular programming language

Javascript can be used in many different ways and its flexible nature makes it one of the most popular programming languages available today. Javascript works great with React which allows Javascript to interact directly with HTML and CSS. Because Javascript uses English keywords instead of symbol based code like many other programs do, this adds an extra level of simplicity when learning how to program using Javascript.

Javascript is the 11th programming language

Javascript has risen in popularity over recent years, and with good reason. It can be used to do anything from creating interactive web pages to uploading images onto your computer. It is an essential skill for any programmer because it allows them to practice other languages like Python or C++.

Types of coding

Javascript allows for two types of coding: Functional and Object Oriented It was created by Netscape back when they were still relevant (1994). Javascript shares a lot of similar traits with Java which is why many people call it “JavaScript” even though that’s not technically correct since Java came first. It stands out among its peers due to having both functional and object oriented elements built into one language! That means you can write code however you’d like without needing two different types of programming languages. Javascript is an awesome language that has the potential to take over the world.

Nowaday we have things like NodeJS with Javascript being an interpreted language instead of a compiled one. It means there are no compilation or linking steps necessary before execution. This means you don’t need any server side software installed during development either. Javascript is also used on the backend through NodeJS, meaning you can run Javascript on both ends no matter what language you are more comfortable with for either end (though some languages like Python and Ruby have frameworks that allow them to make Javascript an option).

An interpreted language

Javascript was created due to how easy it makes writing dynamic interfaces more efficient at the time when many of us were using CGI scripts for this kind of thing.  Javascript is also used on the backend through NodeJS. You can run Javascript on both ends no matter what language you are more comfortable with for either end (though some languages like Python and Ruby have frameworks that allow them to make Javascript an option).
