This mod changes the content of dialogues to be more realistic, with different dialogues for friendly, neutral and unfriendly characters. It also changes some minor things in the game such as giving your character a voice.
The objective of this mod is to make the dialogues in the game much more realistic and to eliminate the good/evil choice in dialogues.
Here are some points discussed about relationship dialog overhaul–
1. You are always able to persuade characters.
RDO has both male and female dialogue for player characters. This mod is in Russian, so you have to load it with the translate function in the launcher.
When you are friendly with someone, their disposition towards you will be reduced by 10 points when you hit them, even if you hit them accidentally (of course, only if their disposition towards you is higher than 90).
When you are neutral with them, it will not change their disposition. When you are unfriendly with someone their disposition will increase by 10 points when you hit them.
2. The frequency of “threat” options in dialogue is diminished.
RDO does it like this – When you are friendly with someone, the frequency of this dialogue option is reduced 2 times (it goes to once every 3 encounters).
When you are unfriendly with someone, the frequency will increase 5 times (it goes to once every encounter). When you’re neutral with someone, it works as usual.
3. It does not change the mechanics of persuasion.
RDO changes the amount of disposition decrease while hitting to 10 while being friendly. This is not a huge thing, but I thought of mentioning it.
However, persuasion will not be reduced by bashing the option – you can always persuade someone with this option if their disposition towards you is higher than 90.
4. The mood system is not used.
Relationship Dialogue Overhaul does not change the mood system, therefore it does not affect the frequency of the “threat” dialogue option.
It makes the player character speak more realistic dialogue to other player characters, including NPCs. RDO changes only players’ dialogues, so it can be used with any other mods that do change better than vanilla game’s dialogues. RDO works with most big mods (like Falskaar, UFR and so on).
5. The number of dialogue templates slightly increases.
RDO changes templates for neutral and unfriendly players with the following templates:
– “no matter what you say, I’ll kill you”;
– “I’m not gonna kill you… for now”;
– “I like your style, come with me.”; (for joining factions/companies); – one more template at the end of this list; A new NPC faction called “City Watch” is added.
One of the mod’s authors is a developer of Falskaar and he has participated in modders’ summit, so he very well understands the technical part.
It is possible that this mod will be updated to work with the most popular NPC mods. I hope this mod will change with time!

6. Only “Kaer Morhen” and “Aedirn” factions.
Relationship Dialogue Overhaul changes two main groups of player characters, those from “Kaer Morhen” and those from “Aedirn”.
It does not change the dialogues for characters from other factions such as Tembilla or Niflheim, as I didn’t want to change the existing dialogue for those faction’s player characters.
If you want to change the dialogues for non-Morhen/Aedirn’s player characters; this mod is not what you want.
7. It does not add voice to characters when you talk with them.
With the exception of “City Watch” and “Kaer Morhen” player characters, RDO changes only players’ dialogues, so it has no direct effect on NPC’s voices in dialogue.
If you want to hear your character’s voice in dialogue; this mod is not what you want.
8. It does not change the voice of the characters.
It is hard to distinguish between player character’s voices in my opinion, so I thought to eliminate this problem by changing only player characters’ voices.
Again, if you want to hear your character’s voice in dialogue; this mod is not what you want.
