Loot Gaming April 2017 is the newest trend in modern gaming. Rather than painstakingly amassing items and weapons to battle your way through a game, Loot Gaming gives you the possibility of obtaining these items for as little as $2 per purchase. But before you spend your hard-earned money on loot boxes, read these five facts about them first!
And so on.
Five facts about loot gaming are:
1. It’s gambling.
Just like opening a pack of cards, there is an element of chance involved in receiving the loot items you want. By definition, loot boxes are random items that one can get for a price.
However, the chances of obtaining these items in a loot box is much higher than getting them in a pack of cards. In fact, if you have more money to throw at it, the odds are even higher for those who purchase the high-priced loot.
In essence then, this is gambling…not unlike real gambling at a casino or on an online gaming site with real money involved. If you have no money and very little power over which card you get then this is just not your cup of tea. You will not win as often as those with extra cash and/or more direct control over their picks.
2. Choose your game wisely.
You also have to choose the right game when deciding if Loot Gaming is for you. This is not an easy task as there are thousands of games out there and new ones are released every week, so you will always be looking at a huge amount of options.
The way to go about this is to look at the reviews (like our own!) and see what the general consensus is on the internet. The more positive feedback you have, the less luck will come into play when you purchase a loot box.
But there are certainly some games that are pretty much guaranteed to provide you with better odds, such as Fortnite . Not all loot boxes are created equal so choose wisely!
3. Don’t fall for the hype.
Lastly, make sure you don’t get sucked in by the hype around loot boxes. You will see people on YouTube, Twitch and social media talking about how much they won or how they got a certain special item they wanted. And while you’ll probably get those items too if you purchase enough loot boxes, people tend to forget that the odds are still not in your favor.
And by no means am I saying that there is no way to win at Loot Gaming. I just don’t think you should go all in on it. Sure, it might be possible to win once in a while but there are so many other games out there that have the same flaws and downsides as the ones you can find at Loot Gaming .
So, when is loot gaming not gambling? When you can for sure obtain these items through them. But all it takes is one purchase and allocation of money to get these items for free. That’s why I say it’s gambling.
4. It’s a game of chance with no benefit.
Here is an important thing to remember:
Loot Gaming does not reward skill like regular video games do. Instead, it rewards the luck of the draw. There is no way to guarantee you will get a particular item in a box.
This is why I don’t recommend putting your hard-earned money into loot boxes. Instead, get a friend to trade with you and flip coins or play rock paper scissors when it’s just the two of you playing – with each person choosing one option only.
This is far more fun than playing Loot Gaming . Then again, if both players are big fans and know each other well, this might work out as well… But still, there’s no good reason to spend money on Loot Gaming unless you’re a huge fan of loot boxes.
5. It can destroy your favorite games and prevent new innovations.
Loot Gaming is often said to be the reason for the downfall of games with loot boxes. This is patently untrue and trivializes how loot boxes work in the first place. In most games, you can always obtain more gold or better weapons by just playing more – no matter how much money you have.
This is why video game developers are fully exploring alternate game mechanics and features (like Fortnite ) which can diversify gameplay without exploiting players with random items obtained via loot boxes.
While it’s true that some developers might be reacting to what happens when games become over-industrially financed by Loot Gaming , I find it hard to believe that this is why they are doing it in the first place.
When you buy loot boxes, you are basically throwing money at the garbage bin. It is money that could have been spent on a new video game or in a real-world casino instead.
So my recommendation here is to go for outside sources for your loot box desires – and if you really, really like the idea of exchanging money for randomized items then play at least one game with friends that does not allow loot boxes to begin with!
It’s come to this: Loot Gaming is gambling and the only way to get around it is to simply not purchase any loot boxes…
